This is the website of Dr Alistair Reed, owner and operator of Metalstocks Australia which trades as The Independent Geologist.
Independent Geologist operates globally to provide quick and cost effective information about mining and exploration projects for precious and industrial minerals and for construction-related minerals and rocks. We also assist with geotechnical investigations. Our geologists have international experience and are normally able to provide quick on the spot advice. We work with mining companies, entrepreneurs and investors.
We are experienced in remote and often difficult or sensitive projects. We have helped develop man-portable drilling capability that provides us with the ability to drill shallow core holes and conduct JORC-reportable on-site analysis without need for third party involvement. This sort of service allows companies to report results to the market quickly, and projects can be assessed efficiently in real-time without need for external laboratory analysis.
The Independent Geologist works with institutions, companies and individuals based around the world. We have worked on projects on every continent remote Antarctica. Our man-portable drills have been successfully deployed on foot and by helicopter and used for both mineral exploration and geotechnical studies.
